XGIMI introduces MoGo 2 and MoGo 2 Pro

XGIMI released its announced MoGo 2 and MoGo 2 Pro projectors in late 2022. Both products target a wide target group as entry-level models and aim to enable quality home theater experiences for relatively little money.

Portable, bright, and acoustic

Both models are designed as portable projectors that can therefore be used regardless of location. However, they rely on being connected to the mains or a power bank to do so. For both models, XGIMI relies on the Light Engine, an in-house developed technology that uses high transmission coated lenses to reduce light loss in the projection light path. This achieves an ISO brightness of 400 lumens, at a resolution of 1920 x 1080 (MoGo 2 Pro) or 1280 x 720 pixels (MoGo 2), which should ensure sharp images.

Added to this is an impressive area coverage of up to 90 percent of the DCI-P3 color space standard, which ensures particularly vivid color reproduction. Additionally, XGIMI is based on the MoGo-2 series’ D65 color temperature standard, which it says is frequently used in Hollywood films. This is to achieve the highest possible color reproduction, which many televisions and projectors cannot do because the color temperature standard is different from the recording standard. According to XGIMI, this is how the movie should make sense.

Among the essential equipment for the two new projectors are two 8-watt speakers, which provide a rich, 3D audio experience across the room with low-frequency loss. On the back, there is a window with a bass diaphragm through which you can watch the movement of the diaphragm when the sound is coming out. The soundbar also has four modes that provide enhanced sound for movies, sports, music, and news, respectively.

MoGo 2 Pro: Smart Screen Adaptation 2.0

The Pro model of the new series also features Intelligent Screen Adaption 2.0. This is a technology that ensures uninterrupted automatic keystone correction and improved autofocus. So, movies are supposed to play without annoying interruptions. Auto keystone correction and focus can be performed from different angles. It also offers automatic eye protection: If someone moves directly in front of the screen, it dims to prevent glare. This new technology is not used in MoGo 2. Here, XGIMI builds on the previous version. The new technology was announced alongside the MoGo 2 Pro at CES in December.

Prices and availability

The two new projectors are already available from the manufacturer and on Amazon. It will also be available in electronics stores from April 25th. Prices are 399 and 599 euros, respectively.

The Non-Pro MoGo 2 uses the Smart ISA 1.0 automatic configuration system, which is not as complex as the premium version and lacks Smart Eye functionality. However, it still offers everything most people need to get a business photo with straight edges and sharp focus without the user having to lift a finger.
