On March 21, 2023, Litten will be featured in Pokémon Go and you will receive double Stardust for catching the Pokémon. And no, Litten can’t be shiny in Pokémon Go (yet)!
Just as Rowlett was the star of Spotlight Hour last week, Litten is the star this week. Again, she’s not available in glitter and will likely make her glitter debut on Community Day, which is a long way off considering we’re just getting started in the Kalos region.
You should try to take a Litten with a high IV and keep updating until the next community day. During the event, Litten will likely learn Blast Burn as it evolves, which will likely be one of his best attacks.
Pokemon is all about catching them all, and in Pokemon Go, that means catching all variations, including the rare shiny versions of Pokemon. Every Tuesday in Pokémon Go, players can see a specific Pokémon spawn more frequently during Spotlight Hour, which runs from 6 p.m. until 18:59. local time. Spotlight Hour is a chance to stock up on candy, get high CP Pokemon, and if you’re lucky, a shiny Pokemon.
WILL SHINY RATES INCREASE WITH THE ADVERTISING TAX?
Based on data collected by The Silph Road Pokémon community, it appears that glowing ratios do not increase during Spotlight Hours. However, the sheer number of Pokemon that appear during the hour-long weekly event gives you a better chance of clicking a random glow. The more Pokemon you click, the better chance you have of catching a Shiny Pokemon.
WHAT DO I DO TO ATTRACT MORE SHINY POKEMON?
Not much, unfortunately. Seems like a random match. Shiny Pokemon’s catch rates are set by developer Niantic, and they typically only increase during special events like Community Days or Safari Zones, or during Legendary Raids. There are no consumables that increase the ratio of shiny Pokémon.
WHERE CAN I FIND A LIST OF AVAILABLE SHINY POKEMON?
LeekDuck maintains a list of currently available Shiny Pokémon. This is a helpful visual guide that shows what all of the shiny Pokémon out there look like.
Though it may still be a long way off, it’s possible this means Niantic will release Shiny versions of all three Pokemon during a future event. Until the developer announces that the Shiny Litten will appear in the game, there is no point in looking for the Shiny version.
For now, it’s better to go into Spotlight Hour with the intention of collecting candy and trying to find a Litten with perfect stats rather than looking for the Shiny version.
Five Highly Desired Shiny Variants Trainers Want to See in Pokémon GO
1. Zoroark
with Zorua and its evolution, it hasn’t been a difficult launch for Niantic. Zoroark, becoming a part of Pokémon GO. While the beloved pair of werewolf-like Pokemon have plenty of fans. The lack of their purple-tinged glowing forms in the mobile game was disappointing, to say the least.
Considering that the implementation of Zorua and Zoroark wasn’t that great for Niantic. They were at least able to reach out to the community by releasing their shiny versions. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but some fans may forgive the mistake.
2) Excadrill
the Excadrill evolution is one of the best Ground- and Steel-type fighters in Pokémon GO. While Drilbur is cute on its own, the Excadrill evolution is one of the best Grounds. And Steel-type fighters in Pokémon GO. Especially in PvE situations like raids. Despite the high usage rate in mobile titles, Excadrill’s shiny form is still unavailable and shiny Drilbur is also impossible to catch.
Given Excadrill’s popularity, it’s unclear why the two creatures from the Unova region haven’t received their glowing forms yet. Niantic may keep the shiny Drilbur and Excadrill in mind for future events to entice players to participate.
3) Greninja
When it comes to starter Pokemon in the franchise, Greninja is one of the most popular shiny forms of all time. That being said, Shiny Greninja is not yet available in Pokémon GO. The same can be said for the previous updates, Froakie and Frogadier.
Interestingly, while Greninja and Delphox don’t have a shiny version, their Grass-type counterpart Chesnaught does. Hopefully, that means the shiny Greninja will arrive sometime in 2023. As this black-clad ninja frog is too cool to pass up.
4) tyrant
Tyrantrum is hard enough to get in Pokemon GO as the Tyrunt evolution is hard to find. It’s equally hard to collect and evolve resources. However, Tyrantrum is without a doubt a great Pocket Monster. Who doesn’t love a T-Rex with a mane? His glowing form of him gives him a blue skin color, giving him a very impressive look.
Unfortunately, as of March 2023, Niantic has yet to introduce the shiny Tyrunt/Tyrantrum to its mobile game. There may need to be a Fossil Pokemon-based event for Tyrantrum to finally get his awesome blue version.
5) Guzzlord
Guzzlord wasn’t a part of Pokemon GO for very long, only debuting in November 2022. However, it does have one of the most unique and engaging shiny versions of Ultra Beasts. Its color contrasts strongly with its black and yellow form. Instead, it will be white and orange.
Meanwhile, Guzzlord still presents a menacing image. Despite its incredibly bright color compared to its standard form. Hopefully, when this creature returns to the raid rotation, it will be with its shiny version available.
